Fall Home Decor Favorites

Interior Design, Styling

Choosing the right Fall decor pieces is one of the easiest and most effective ways to make your home feel seasonally appropriate yet not Holiday-specific. As the days get shorter and the temps get colder, it is so important to have a home that feels warm and cozy. I have mentioned it before, but decorating with orange and pumpkins (or red and green plaid) isn’t really my idea of updating my home. Maybe that will change when we have kids (I doubt it), but for now I prefer to bring in versatile Fall pieces that feel seasonally transitional and keep with the classic, monochromatic feel of our space. A few key elements that I have found really work are adding texture, shifting hues and changing out greenery. Say bye bye to bright white hydrangeas and hello to rich, deep toned mums. Adios light blue pillow covers, hola to faux fur throws. You get the idea! Here are 18 different items, currently in stores, that will make your home transition into Fall and stay relevant in Winter.

{ 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9 }

+ A solid wood planter is perfect for displaying seasonal plants, such as mums and poinsettias.

+ This velvet green pillow cover is perfect for Fall. It comes in various colors – I own the gray and navy.

+ There is no better item to own in colder months than a faux fur throw. I use mine nonstop – it’s comfy, cozy and cute!

+ Buffalo Check plus faux shearling equals this cute, comfortable, seasonal throw. It’s on my list!

+ This soap + lotion combination both the perfect hostess gift and the perfect addition to your bathroom – I actually use these year round and they look way more expensive than they are. Dark and moody – ideal for Fall!

+ A live olive wreath provides some seasonal feel without being too cheesy or tacky. I like the olive green because it translates well from now into the new year.

+ Use this marble + wood Lazy Susan for a dinner party appetizer station, as added height for a table centerpiece or as a baked goods holiday display.

+ If you are in the market for a new sofa, this one is so good! It’s classic meets modern and moody enough, yet fits any space year round. I am seriously loving this sofa.

+ Mercury candle holders are always a great touch to add to any table centerpiece, console table or fireplace mantle. You can scatter them among other decor or greenery, or display in a straight line to create symmetry.

{ 10 / 11 / 12 / 13 / 14 / 15 / 16 / 17 / 18 }

+ This velvet print pillow is the perfect shade of blue and provides great texture. I would put two on the bed or one in each set of upholstered chairs.

+ This set of dark bronze candle holders would look great on a mantle or in the center of a dining tale (maybe 2 sets).

+ If you live in a warmer area, this thin throw is ideal for you. It won’t provide too much heat but has the Fall pattern that you’re looking for. I like the gray as a classic living room piece.

+ This set of blue and gold mugs are just too cute – they’re great for a Fall dinner party or everyday use.

+ If anyone knows me, they know that I have been dying for an olive green sofa for for years now. This color is so trendy right now but to me it’s a classic. I feel like green is the color of Fall so it’s really two birds one stone.

+ My all-time favorite candle in pumpkin scent? Say no more. I suggest that you head to your nearest Anthropologie store now and scoop one up!

+ This trio of cheese boards is great to display in the kitchen to bring warmth to any space. They’re multi-functional as they are perfect for serving cheese (duh), grouping apps or simply providing contrast.

+ A cool set of matches is great any time of year, but I love the all black color of these. They’re dark and moody enough but still classic. I would display these on my coffee table (next to my favorite candle) or in the bathroom for guests to access.

+ This round mirror is a great accent piece to put in a powder room or entry way. The dark, heavy material works with almost any design style.

What’s your favorite way to bring Fall into your home?!
