Happy Monday y’all! I hope everyone had a great weekend! I spent an amazing three days in the charming, picturesque town of Saratoga Springs, NY- my days were filled with sunny skies, amazing tailgates & big hats! More to come on that later this week…
For now I want to share one of my favorite design details that has been around forever, yet seems to be making a major comeback. If you want classic + rustic, trendy + subtle, I’ve got the detail for you: shiplap. Shiplap is basically a type of paneling where wooden boards (usually between 3″ &10″ wide) are stacked horizontally to create texture, some shadow & overall interest on a blank wall. Traditionally, it was used for barn siding but we’re seeing shiplap often used in interiors, especially coastal or rustic, in bathrooms or hallways/mudrooms. I love shiplap to create interest in a room- get creative, get bold & try this feature! I promise you will love it!
Do you have shiplap in your home?!
