Whenever you are searching social media for anything Copenhagen related, there are two main pictures that always pop up. One of the colored homes along Nyhavn Harbor and the stunning pool at Hotel Manon Les Suites. I mean…once my friend and I saw these pool pictures, we knew that we had to stay at this stunning hotel, if only for one night. I am happy to say that – unlike many pictures we see on Instagram – this did not disappoint! In fact, this hotel ended up being even better than we imagined.
Location
I kept reading reviews saying how the hotel was far away from everything, but I was pleasantly surprised with the location. While it’s not as convenient as some (ex. Hotel Danmark), it is still walkable to all of the main sites, including Tivoli Gardens and the train station. I guess the only downside to its location is that there aren’t an abundance of restaurants or bars surrounding the hotel (there is one downstairs but it closed early) so that was a bit on an inconvenience, although it wouldn’t deter me from staying here. In fact, the hotel is one block away from Ørsteds Park, which is a beautiful public park with a lake and playground – ideal for a midday picnic or an outdoor run
Accommodations
This hotel really offers a lot – and everything they do, they do it right. Honestly, the pool itself is worth a visit. The pool is the center of what’s essentially a huge indoor greenhouse. The hotel is built around this courtyard area with lush greenery and vines hanging all around. The overhead skylights allow light in and keep it warm. The pool is also heated and was so relaxing to take a dip in or lay around. Apparently every Friday night they have a big pool party with a bar and DJ – we didn’t make it, but I’m sure it was a lot of fun.
The hotel also offers amenities like free WiFi, room service, an onsite restaurant and a huge gym. Y’all – this gym is absolutely insane! Never in all of my years of travel have I seen a gym so robust or awesome! It is basically a huge crossfit gym (set up with rigs and racks) meets a boxing gym (literally has a boxing ring) meets an indoor training facility (with indoor turf and various machines). I was so disappointed that I didn’t have time to work out here, as I certainly would have liked to!
Our stay included breakfast which was served upstairs in the indoor/outdoor restaurant. They have a front balcony and a back patio – it’s so colorful and vibrant with plants and lounge furniture. This was my favorite breakfast we had in Copenhagen, as it was fresh and healthy. They had various options, including soft boiled eggs (my fave!), fresh fruit, avocado, gluten free and organic options.
Overall Experience
I can’t say enough about how awesome this hotel is. From the funky, Texas-inspired decor to the lush, tropical pool area to the next-level gym complex to the outstanding breakfast with sweeping city views, this hotel has it all. Truth be told, I wish we could have stayed another night. I feel like I didn’t get to spend enough time experiencing the hotel. This would be a great hotel to visit in winter as there is so much to do inside – it truly felt like a getaway in itself. I bet locals do staycations here – I would! If you are headed to Copenhagen, a night in the Manon Les Suites is an absolute must.
Thank you to Manon Les Suites for sponsoring this post. Though our stay was discounted, thoughts and opinions are my own.
