What a magical day. It was a warm day but a bit overcast with a chance of rain. In fact, it sprinkled a little bit right before we did our “first look”, which is actually good luck in the world of wedding superstitions. We had over 110 of our closest friends that came to the charming town of Saratoga Springs. Saratoga has a small-town, Southern feel (with one main road and hydrangeas blooming) but is set in the beautiful green scenery of upstate New York. It’s truly the best of North meets South, which is why Terry and I chose to celebrate our love in this beautiful city. The town is built around the historic horse racing track (the oldest sporting venue in the country) so we opted to take advantage of this charming factor. Since every single one of our guests had to travel, we decided to host everyone for a three-day, fun-filled celebration. We started with a day at the track, followed by an “I Do BBQ” rehearsal dinner (an homage to my southern roots) and of course, our beautiful wedding day.
Looking back, there is not one single thing I would change. To us, it was perfection.
Given that we’ve only been married for two years, we are still very much in the “newlywed” phase of marriage. We certainly don’t claim to be marriage experts and I won’t give any advice or tips, as I don’t think I’m qualified. All I know is that I love and adore my husband and we are building an incredible life together. One that makes us happy. In lieu of marriage talk, I thought it would be fun to share what we’ve been up to during our second year of marriage. This should provide an accurate glimpse into our lives during year two…
